If your ancestors came from canton Ticino, swissinfo would like to hear from you.

The English service of swissinfo plans to produce an interactive, multimedia series of reports on Ticino with descendants of Ticino emigrants as the main target audience.

The aim is to come into contact with second, third and fourth generation descendants who use English as their main language and would like to know more about the home region of their ancestors.

We do not intend to conduct genealogy research but to explore cultural, economic and socio-political issues/questions that descendants express an interest in. The results will be published as either texts, videos, audio-slide shows or podcasts, allowing feedback from contributors.

Anyone interested in participating should reply to:

dale.bechtel@swissinfo.ch

In response, you will receive a short survey to fill out and return.

The survey will enable descendants to provide information on what they know about their Ticino ancestry, and to make proposals for the kind of stories they would like to see produced.

A selection of proposed stories will be made based on swissinfo's editorial criteria, feasibility and potential reader interest as well as ensuring that a variety of topics is covered.

The deadline for submissions is June 13, 2008.

All participants will receive a gift as a token of swissinfo's appreciation with the best three entrants winning a pen with a retail value of SFr100.
