(Bloomberg) -- Credit Suisse Group AG has named Robert Arbuthnott as its next head of finance, reporting to Chief Financial Officer David Mathers, according to a person with knowledge of the appointment.
Arbuthnott, CFO for U.K. operations since he joined from Barclays Plc in December, will replace Charlotte Jones as chief accounting officer and group head of finance, the person said Thursday, asking not to be named because the matter was private.
Jones is leaving the Swiss bank to become CFO for Jupiter Fund Management Plc, the U.K. company said in May.
At Barclays, Arbuthnott was CFO for the Asia-Pacific region, where Credit Suisse is expanding operations after reorganizing under Chief Executive Officer Tidjane Thiam.
The Zurich-based bank has lost more than half its value since Thiam took over a year ago, as it struggled with a global economic slowdown and losses on risky trading positions.
