(Bloomberg) -- Syngenta, the Swiss agrochemical maker that agreed to be taken over by a state-owned Chinese company, said Erik Fyrwald will take over as chief executive from his current post leading chemical distributor Univar Inc.
Fyrwald replaces interim CEO John Ramsay, the Basel-based company said in a statement.
The former DuPont Co. executive now has the task of closing the $43 billion takeover of Syngenta by China National Chemical Corp. Ramsay will work alongside Fyrwald to “support the closing” of the transaction, Chairman Michel Demare said in the release.
