Trucks get thorough inspection at the Gotthard tunnel
Over one million trucks cross the Swiss Alps every year - most of them via the Gotthard tunnel. Exhausted drivers and badly maintained vehicles cause a serious threat to other drivers. The authorities have reacted to the problem and started inspecting trucks and drivers in a new heavy goods vehicle centre. (SF/swissinfo.ch)
