swissinfo.ch

Singer, flutist and composer André-Daniel Meylan, more popularly known as "Sarclon" was born on December 19, 1953, in Switzerland's Jura region.

While although apprenticed in his family’s watchmaking tradition, he took the decision to become a musician instead. Finally concentrating on the flute, he studied it at the Lausanne Conservatory and formed the Sarclon group. This group disbanded in 1980. Ever since André-Daniel Meylan has won increasing acclaim as a solo instrumentalist, singer and composer in his own right.
