Nik Bärtsch’s Ronin: Llyrìa

swissinfo.ch

Minimal /Jazz / New Age. After signing with the renowned ECM label 2003, Nik Bärtsch's quintet Ronin has emerged from former obscurity to international status. The project which started 2001 has become a success story and won Bärtsch's band worlwide praise. Llyrìa is the 3rd album to date for the eminent Munich label. On this one they sound less attached to rhythmic patterns but bewitched by lyrical siren-like chants and impressionistic colours. The music displays new found peace giving off fluorescent glow as the hidden life in the deep sea.
