Champagne wars

Swiss village fights for right to use 'Champagne' label.

The battle is heating up in the war between the tiny village of Champagne in western Switzerland and its namesake in northeastern France. A court in Paris has now banned a Swiss firm from using the Champagne label on its biscuit packets. Last year, the Swiss region was forced to drop the name on its wine bottles. Villagers in Champagne claim their French counterparts are trying to wipe them off the map. (swissinfo, Julie Hunt)
