Is the internet to blame for growing extremism?

The internet is seen as a vital rallying point for international terrorist groups. Incitement to violence and propaganda materials are regularly put online from Switzerland, and the government has established an expert group to monitor jihadism on the Web.

Does the Web represent a potential danger for disaffected youth? And more generally, to what extent should we fear Islamist terrorism over the actions of political extremists from all walks of life?
