ALMATY (Reuters) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed Prime Minister Karim Masimov as chairman of the state security service on Thursday.

Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev will serve as acting head of the cabinet, according to the order published by Nazarbayev's office.
