Monday

The Parliamentary winter session begins today. A number of important issues will be discussed, including how to deal with money stashed in Swiss banks by controversial political figures from abroad, and a law on the automatic exchange of information on tax matters. Parliament is readying itself for the election of the cabinet on December 9, with much attention focused on whether the conservative right Swiss People’s Party will pick up a second seat on the seven-member body.

Tuesday

We’ll be following the climate talks in Paris at COP21. Aside from general discussions around climate change, deforestation will also be on the agenda. We’ll examine efforts to persuade banks to stop lending money to companies clearing forests for cash crops.

Wednesday

Find out why a conference in Phoenix in the United States is interested in how Switzerland gets its citizens to take part in direct democracy and make informed decisions.

Friday
