Participatory democracy

Bruno Kaufmann

Next month a major international conference in the United States will reflect on citizens’ rights 800 years after the signing of the Magna Charta, whose central principle is that no one is above the law and that power should be shared by more people.

The three-day event, hosted by the Arizona State University in Phoenix on December 3-5, brings together researchers, academics and policy-makers under the title ‘By the People: Participatory democracy, public engagement and citizenship education’.
