Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, is adding a direct daily connection between Zurich and the capital city of Muscat to its summer schedule.

It’s hoped that the new connection, announced on Monday by the national airline, will help strengthen Oman’s position as a tourist destination.

Travellers have been able to fly directly from Zurich to Oman for five years, but this is the first time the connection will be offered on a daily basis.

The new offering with service from German-speaking Switzerland also complements the existing daily connection (via Frankfurt) between Oman and francophone Geneva.

Paul Gregorowitsch, Oman Air’s director general, emphasised that the connection should offer tourists and business travellers alike better access to the nation on the Arabian Peninsula, as well as to key markets in the Middle East, Africa, India and Asia.
