25 short films about top-level research on swissinfo.ch

Berne, 11 november 2008 As part of the "SCIENCEsuisse" project, swissinfo.ch is presenting profiles of 25 Swiss scientists from the broadest range of disciplines. The focus is on Switzerland's high international reputation as a centre of research. SCIENCEsuisse is an SRG SSR idée suisse initiative, in collaboration with the Swiss National Science Foundation.

SCIENCEsuisse is intended to give readers an insight into what scientists are studying at the beginning of the 21st century. The 25 selected profiles present those scientists whose work has also gained renown beyond Switzerland’s borders.

From particle physicists to those in search of a cure for cancer

The short films on swissinfo.ch allow the scientists themselves to talk extensively about their work, thereby giving the audience an insight into both the individual and their area of research. The following individuals are profiled in the series:

Thomas Stocker, environmental physicist;
Laurent Keller, evolutionary biologist;
Rolf Pfeifer, robotics expert;
Denis Duboule, developmental biologist;
