ART: Constantin Brancusi and Richard Serra

Constantin Brancusi, La muse endormie, 1910, Bronze, Centre Pompidou, Musée national d’art moderne

Fondation Beyeler, Basel, on now till August 21, 2011

This year’s summer exhibition is devoted to sculpture. Sensuous oeuvres in marble, bronze and wood by Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) are juxtaposed with minimalistic steel works by Richard Sera (b. 1939) creating fascinating contrasts. On view, The Kiss, Endless Column, Belts and House of Cards and many other works.
