Banker takes over at Swiss Life

Swiss Life's new CEO, Rolf Dörig, has spent his entire career at Credit Suisse, Switzerland's second-biggest bank.

The 45-year-old lawyer heads up the bank’s corporate and retail banking sector, and is chairman of its Swiss activities.

Dörig’s entire career has been in corporate and retail banking. He undertook various regional responsibilities before taking over as head of communications for the Credit Suisse Group (CSG) in 1997.

Two years ago, he became CEO of corporate and retail banking at Credit Suisse Financial Services. He took over as chairman of CSG Switzerland this spring.

Dörig was also involved for a short time with Switzerland’s national exhibition, Expo.02. He was head of finance for three months from the end of 1999, before leaving the position to Walter Häusermann.

The Swiss Life CEO is a member of the boards of the Swiss Bankers Association, the Swiss Employers Association, the Swiss Business Federation and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Dörig was born in 1957, is married and has three sons.
