Bringing natural gas to western Europe

Europe wishes to end Russia's de facto monopoly on the natural gas trade. One solution could be to import gas from the Caspian Sea.

But to transport it, a pipeline needs to be built from Turkey to western Europe. Two projects are still competing for the contract, including one with Swiss participation, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
