The present recording is the first performance of this piece (written for violin and piano) in a version for oboe and piano. Martin Gebhardt was born and grew up in Basel. He studied at the Conservatories of Rotterdam and Zurich, where in 1988 he gained the concert diploma in the class of Thomas Indermühle. Until 1998 Martin Gebhardt held the position of solo oboe with symphony orchestras in Switzerland and Germany. Nowadays, the founder of the Aulos Quartett devotes himself entirely to chamber music and solo repertoire, as well as teaching.
