Carpenter crowned Mister Switzerland

André Reithebuch has won modelling contracts and the use of a car Keystone

A 22-year-old carpenter from canton Glarus has been voted this year's Mister Switzerland.

André Reithebuch, an outdoors-loving mountain climber who also enjoys riding motorbikes, took first place in the ceremony in Lugano on Saturday night.

As the winner, he will rack up modelling contracts worth SFr50,000 ($44,000) and have access to a car and motorcycle during his year in the role.

He is 1.92m tall, weighs 85kg and is single. His favourite dishes are fondue and an alpine version of macaroni.

Gym instructor and nutrition expert Delmarque Vilela from canton Valais was the runner-up.
