The private banking division of the Credit Suisse group has become the first bank to offer special insurance cover for the world's top sportsmen and women.
The "Dream Team" package offers professional athletes a combination of individual service and specially-tailored asset management and insurance products.
Cover is provided for all sports-related risks, including:
- loss of sponsorship contracts
- loss of participation fees
- victory bonuses and salaries as a result of disability
- treatment and repatriation costs
The package offers life assurance products from the leading insurance companies participating in Insurance Lab (a service at www.cspb.com). These include Winterthur Life, Credit Suisse Life, Allianz, Basler Insurance, Helvetia Patria, National and Zurich.
A statement from Credit Suisse Private Banking in Zurich said the "Dream Team" package would enable sportsmen and women to begin their financial and professional planning at an early stage during their active sports careers. This would provide a "solid basis" for them to embark successfully on a second career later in life, it added.
Apart from a carefully-tailored personal asset management plan and matching specialist insurance, "Dream Team" is also offering advice on financing, tax and pensions.
Credit Suisse Private Banking has been heavily involved in sport for many years as a sponsor and has a number of top sports professionals among its banking clients.
