Cuche, who had won the previous downhill events at Kitzbühel and Garmisch in January, finished third behind Austria’s Klaus Kröll and American Bode Miller on Friday.

No other Swiss skier made it into the top ten.

With four races to go, Cuche leads the World Cup downhill discipline, 40 points ahead of Kröll.
