Former Servette boss found guilty

The former president of Geneva's Servette football club, Marc Roger, has been found guilty of mismanagement and falsifying records.

Roger was given a two-year suspended sentence.

But the court in Geneva acquitted Roger of the more serious charges of fraud and financial misconduct in connection with the club’s bankruptcy in 2005.

Roger, 45, was arrested in 2005 shortly after the club collapsed with debts of more than SFr12 million ($10 million).

Former club administrator, Olivier Maus and French lawyer Marguerite Fauconnet, were also found guilty of mismanagement and forging documents, respectively.

Both received suspended fines; SFr480,000 (US$425,000) for Maus and SFr90,000 for Fauconnet.
