The book, published by AT Verlag, contains 100 recipes from around the world using ingredients recognised as aphrodisiacs. It is lavishly illustrated with 80 colour photographs.

The jury heaped praise on both the recipes and the way they were illustrated.

"Seductive recipes, a first-class layout and unconventional photos, which are erotic in their own right," it said as it awarded the prize.

The Golden Laurel was first awarded last year.
