Lugano, who have been dominant in the Swiss league this season, beat Vevey side Riviera by a clear 10 points (90-80) to win their first ever Swiss Cup. American Jemeil Rich made the most impressive contribution of the match with a personal tally of 32 points.

The women of Martigny, meanwhile, wrapped up their third straight cup final victory with an unexpectedly narrow win over Lausanne. In all three of their previous meetings in the league this season, Martigny were able to register winning margins of more than 15 points.

On Saturday, though, Martigny trailed by two points at the half-way stage before eventually winning 68-61. Pamela Hudson was instrumental in her team's success, scoring 18 of a total 29 points in the second half.
