Federal Administrative Court

The Federal Administrative Court is one of the two federal courts of first instance (the other is the Federal Criminal Court). They were set up as part of a recent reform of the legal system to lighten the ever-increasing load of the Federal Court in Lausanne. The Federal Administrative Court will begin its work in Bern in 2007, before moving to St Gallen in 2010. The court’s role is to hear public-law disputes relating to the sphere of competence of the federal administration.
