After finishing as runners-up in Tenerife, Gstaad and Berlin, the Lacigas again had to settle for second place in Stavanger, Norway. This time they were beaten by the Brazilian pairing of Emanuel and Tande.

"We don't have to blame ourselves for anything," Martin Laciga said after Sunday's 21-19, 21-15 defeat. "The Brazilians played absolutely faultlessly."

Emanuel and Tande had already managed to beat the Lacigas once this season during the final of the World Tour opener in Tenerife. In the overall rankings the Brazilians now share top spot with the Swiss brothers.

The Lacigas, who finished fifth in last year's Olympic competition, remained unbeaten in Stavanger until the final match.
