Johann Melchior Gletle (1626 – 1683). Triumphale canticum – Motetti sacri concertati. Musica Fiorita. Daniela Dolci.
Some fifty years ago the name of Swiss composer Gletle was readily associated with opinions such as "a minor 17th century figure". Today, however, artistic considerations, together with his individuality and the special position he occupied between Schütz and Buxtehude, are of particular interest and the progress made meanwhile by performers regarding sources, notation and early baroque instruments have permitted a revaluation based on how the music actually sounds.
