Swiss police go online to fight crime
Switzerland’s police forces went online Wednesday as part of a coordinated effort to improve crime fighting and the search for missing people.

While various cantonal police forces already maintain their own sites, the new “swisspolice.ch” website marks the first nationally coordinated Internet presence.
The new police site is updated by the Federal Police Office, which also coordinates with cantonal and municipal forces as to what information will be put on the Internet.
The Swiss Justice Ministry says it hopes the new website will help improve communication between police and people living in Switzerland.
The site lists the names of missing people and provides a link to Interpol’s website list of missing children.
Swisspolice.ch also asks for information on stolen goods and provides the public with general police notifications.
There are also links to 17 cantonal or municipal police websites.
