Up and out of the Doubs
This morning a journalist from a Jura newspaper came to talk for while, and he asked if I wasn't curious about the Jura above me.
The river in its canyon is a unique environment, utterly unlike the rest of the land in the forested mountains.
Why yes I am, I told him, but for now the canyon of the Doubs is our world, and we’re very glad to be in it.
But now it’s a few hours later and we’re a bit tired from the hard single-track trails we’ve travelling all morning. We’re actually looking forward to this brand new world opening in front of us as we’ll climb several hundred metres into the high and cold hills above. The wind is already swaying the trees. This is the famous watchmaking country and we’re about to pass through its heart at Le Locle.
