Switzerland has a new lottery millionaire, with someone in the eastern part of the country scooping a fortune of almost SFr36 million ($33.65 million).

The unidentified person chose six correct numbers as well as an extra “plus” number in an entry costing a stake of SFr15, with the odds of winning one in 24 million.
The previous record was SFr19.1 million, won by someone in canton Geneva.
Lottery organisers Swiss Lotto said entries for Wednesday night’s draw had tripled compared with a normal lottery day.
Lottery fever is expected to wane considerably for the next draw on Saturday, with the jackpot standing at “only” SFr3.1 million.
