The Lugano Snakes have lost their game against Estudiantes Madrid in Thursday's Euroleague basketball action. The team from the Swiss canton of Ticino were defeated 97-76 on the fifth day of play.
The Lugano Snakes are now ranked 4th out of the six teams in Group A.
The match marked the halfway point of the qualifying stage and involved two teams with very similar records. Both Lugano and Madrid went into the showdown with two wins and two defeats from their four previous Euroleague matches.
The Spanish side came desperately close to recording their third win of the campaign last week, but were eventually beaten 81-72 by group favourites Fortitude Bologna.
