Man sentenced to 13 years in sex abuse case

A court has sentenced a Swiss man to 13 years in prison for drugging and sexually abusing dozens of girls at a camp and a private boarding school.

The district court in the southern town of Brig found the unidentified man guilty of multiple cases of attempted rape, rape, sexual abuse of children and other offences between 1996 and 2007.

Authorities linked the 62-year-old to DNA found after one attack at the exclusive alpine boarding school Aiglon College in 2000.

The court said on Friday it had also ordered the man to pay his victims a total of SFr65,000 ($77,000). He will remain under surveillance after the end of his sentence.

The sentence went beyond the ten-year term demanded by prosecutors because the man had previously been punished for similar offences. and agencies
