Brazil / Electro. Ten years ago Bernese musician Ane H. ran into Brazilian bossa nova singer Marianna Da Cruz after a concert she had given in Lissabon. For him it was immediately clear he had to deliver this talented vocalist from falling into the trap of a stereotype career. As a longtime protagonist of Switzerland's electro scene, Ane H. envisioned a fusion of Da Cruz' musical heritage propelled by high voltage sounds. Thus, Da Cruz was born and the artists have been a couple on and off stage ever since. Their third album, Sistema Subversiva, released by the renowned U.S. label Six Degrees Records, avoids any sunshine cliches. Trashy dancefloor beats and amazonian hymns dominate, all fired up by Marianna Da Cruz's urgent voice.
