Galeone5: Laikan
Jazz / Modern. Galeone5 is a cunning quintet around Lucerne's Pascal Galeone, whose wordless vocals seamlessly fit in with the other ensemble instruments. Laikan means dance in ancient German, and indeed, the agitated sonic aesthetics of this group comprise up jumping excursions into spacy fields, meditative moods of supernal beauty and bop-like tutti passages. Above and beyond the unusual setting on Laikan of bass trombone and guitar, makes this disc an exploratory journey throughout.
