Grand Mother’s Funck: The Proud Egyptian
Funk / Soul / Hip-Hop. For fifteen years Grand Mother's Funck have been one of Switzerland's hottest funk acts. Nevertheless, these musicians from the Bernese countryside always had a penchant for merging their favourite style with other influences, such as soul, afro-cuban and pop. Hence, their current, seventh album displays another, further facet of this band. On The Proud Egyptian GMF meets hip-hop. Therefore, the octet engaged none other than iconic U.S. rapper Akil, the MC of the former Jurassic 5. And truly, his positive rhymes give GMF's smooth, old-school explorations a special edge throughout.
