Jean Xavier Lefèvre was born in 1763 in or near Lausanne. He apparently soon became an outstanding clarinettist in Paris.
Eduard Brunner, born and raised in Basel, began his international career as a soloist and chamber musician while still studying in Basel and Paris. In 1962 he joined the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra as principal clarinetist. In a performing career of over fifty years he has taken every opportunity to combine the great classical works with new music. He is equally dedicated to the so-called minor masters.

Lefèvre: Quartet VI. IV.Rondo-Allegretto.

E. Brunner, clarinet.
