In 2006 the photographer Stefan Walter accompanied 95-year-old Ignaz Hürlimann on his last marmot hunt in Meienthal, canton Uri.
For 33 years Hürlimann worked as a station master for the Swiss Federal Railways. Every autumn he left his wife and two sons for several weeks.
In September 1943 he shot his first chamois but after 63 years his hunting days were finally over: "It's a mercy that I'm still so sprightly at this age. You can't ask for more than that." (Pictures: Stefan Walter)
