Life & Aging Military race Previous Next The race took place for the 73rd time in Frauenfeld. The top event in this typically Swiss sport is run over the marathon distance of 42 kilometres. It developed from a purely military exercise in the 1930s to a sport discipline in its own right. Participants wear battle dress and carry at least 6.2kg, including a back pack and military-issue rifle. Civilian footwear is allowed.
