Trio Langholz: Die etwas andere Alphornmusik
Instrumental / Alphorn. The members of the alphorn trio Langholz, from the Lucerne hinterland started out in 2003 with the goal to obtain maximum rhythm and harmonic colours from these unwieldy wind instruments. And their debut album at hand, Die etwas andere Alphornmusik (That certain other alphorn music), surprises in fact with the greatest of ease and crystal clear tones. Additionally, their majoritarian self-composed pieces all have a slight swinging touch and much stomping wit. The album is enriched with tracks played by the Schwyzerörgeliquartett Witusenand, a Swiss diatonic accordion formation enjoying local hero status.
