A galloping success : St Moritz is celebrating 100 years of horse racing on its frozen lake. The White Turf races, held over three consecutive February weekends, are expected to attract about 30,000 visitors from Switzerland and abroad. This is the most important event on the Swiss racing calendar, and includes trotting, flat racing and skijöring. The horses wear spikes to help them grip the icy surface. (Julie Hunt, swissinfo)
