Young directors reflect modern realities in film

Two young directors and the head of the committee that selected their short films, talk about their choices and the importance of cinema for society.

The ‘Pardi di domani’ section of the Locarno Film Festival welcomes young directors and their short films, for a national and an international competition.

Beside hearing which criteria do the selected films need to meet, we asked Dejan Barac (director of Mama Rosa) and Anaïs Moog (director of Tempête silencieuse) to tell us more about their creative process, their take on society and the power of film as medium.

Dejan Barac was awarded the ‘Pardino d’oro’ for the best Swiss short film. Anaïs Moog was awarded the ‘Pardino d’argento’ in the same category, for second best Swiss short film.
