Paléo names an eclectic line-up

James Blunt, The Chemical Brothers, The Strokes and Robert Plant are to top the bill this year at Paléo, Switzerland’s biggest open-air music festival.

The Nyon-based event also announced on Tuesday that the Caribbean would be featured as guest of honour at a multicoloured Village du Monde, decked out in the music and flavours of the region.

Also scheduled to take part at the festival from July 19-24 are Portishead and PJ Harvey, with the French-language  contribution – music and comedy – coming from, among others, Eddy Mitchell, Jamel and Camélia Jordana.

Tickets and festival passes will be on sale from April 13.

Last year almost 230,000 people attended the festival, which is now in its 36th year. It attracts a mainly Swiss audience, with 12 per cent of festival-goers coming from abroad last year.
