BEIRUT (Reuters) - Lebanon's Interior Minister Nohad Mashnouk signed on Friday a decree to hold a long-overdue parliamentary election on May 6 next year, a statement from his office said.

Parliament has extended its own mandate three times since current lawmakers were elected in 2009 for what was meant to be a four-year term. The statement also said Lebanese citizens abroad would be able to cast their vote on April 22 and 28.
