Rieter reports good results for 2000 but sees difficult times ahead
Net profit at Rieter Holding rose 17.7 per cent last year to reach SFr146 million ($85.5 million) but the company has warned that this year is unlikely to see a repeat performance.
The Winterthur-based supplier of systems and services to the textile, car and plastics industries saw sales increase to SFr2.93 billion last year and is to increase its shareholder dividend by 15 per cent.
But the company had a less optimistic outlook for the current year.
“In view of the more difficult market conditions, it will be a considerable challenge to exceed the previous year’s sales and earnings figures in 2001,” said a company statement.
