"Given the robust consumer climate, the favourable market conditions will continue," the company said in a statement. It expects sales to increase again in the second quarter.
The group, which owns Zurich's biggest department store on the prestigious Bahnhofstrasse, added that its objective of increasing profitability by five to ten per cent during the first six months of the year had also been achieved.
