Sika Finanz boosts sales

Sika Finanz says it increased its sales figures by 18.3 per cent last year to SFr2 billion ($1.21 billion).

In a statement on Tuesday, the construction chemicals specialist also confirmed forecasts that its net profit would rise to around SFr100 million from SFr93 million in 1999.

It said it is planning to raise its dividend to SFr2.3 per share from SFr2.1.

Sales of construction chemicals rose 16.8 per cent to SFr1.47 billion, while turnover of industrial materials increased 22.6 per cent to SFr530 million. Acquisitions added SFr110 million to annual sales.

The company said it plans further buy-outs in the field of innovative technology and said it wanted to invest SFr140 million to expand capacity in Switzerland, Germany, France, China and North America.
