The Paper Cuts exhibition at the Swiss National MuseumExternal link opens the door on the fascinating world of images created from paper. Using scissors and a knife, a silhouette of the image of scene is cut out, in a process requiring immense skill and attention to detail. The exhibition features over 100 contemporary works from a 2012 competition in which participants were asked to produce their take on traditional themes, as well as historical paper cuts. Institutional works explore new dimensions of paper-cutting as a medium.
