Stronger demand boosts Valora sales
The Bern-based trading and services company, Valora, said its sales for 2000 rose by 5.6 per cent over the previous year to SFr2.99 billion (1.82 billion).
This content was published on January 31, 2001 - 12:28Sales in Valora's core businesses rose by 8.7 per cent to SFr2.48 billion. That excludes Slumberland, the bedding group which it plans to sell as part of a restructuring. Slumberland sales fell 7.2 per cent to SFr504 million.
The group said in a statement that its largest revenue earner, K Group, which includes store sales and kiosks, was helped by improved consumer confidence.
It added that K Group's revenues alone rose by 6.6 per cent to SFr1.76 billion.
