Two Zurich architects, Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer, have been commissioned to design an art museum at Mouans-Sartoux in the South of France.

The building will be in the park of a 15th century château used for temporary exhibitions, and which is regarded as one of the region’s most important cultural attractions in the field of contemporary art.

Scheduled for completion in 2002, the new museum will house 320 paintings donated to France by two Swiss collectors, Sybil Albers-Barrier and Gottfried Honegger.
