Fundraising charity group Swiss Solidarity has collected more than SFr11 million ($12.1 million) in aid donations for Japan.
It is exactly a month since Japan was hit by a magnitude 9.0 earthquake and subsequent tsunami, which killed more than 12,000 people and left another 165,000 homeless.
Some 15,000 people are still missing and workers are continuing their efforts to stem the flow of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear plant which was hit by the tsunami.
Swiss Solidarity, led by swissinfo.ch parent company the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, said on Monday it had collected a total of SFr11,246,206 in donations for Japan.
The money will be distributed to partner organisations such as the Swiss Red Cross, the Salvation Army and Caritas to assist with their relief projects in Japan.
