Swiss footballer joins West Ham

Eighteen-year-old Swiss footballer Fabio Daprelà has joined London club West Ham United for a nominal fee.

The "Swiss Under-19 ace", as British tabloid The Sun referred to him on Friday, started and finished every match for Switzerland at Uefa's European Under-17 Championship last year.

The left back has signed a five-year deal after moving from from Grasshoppers Zurich and joins fellow Swiss international Valon Behrami, who was signed from Lazio last summer.

Last season West Ham finished ninth in the Barclays Premier League, currently the strongest league in the world, just missing out a place in Europe.
